No Basic Safety Training necessary prior to entry

After the absolvation of a specific training, a safety certificate will be issued onboard.The crew member is required to complete a part of the preparation online in advance.

Lodging & catering during contract period is free

Naturally, lodging and catering during your contract period is free of charge.

Support by own human resources department on board

On board, the crew has it`s own Human Ressources department. That means always a direct contact person for personal questions and problems, that may occure.

We pay the salary in EUROs

Your salary will be payed in EUROs, to a bank account of your choice.

Opportunity to enter the private health insurance cover program with Allianz Worldwide Care, exclusively created for sea chefs crew

We are pleased to provide our crew an additional, private health insurance program upon request.The Allianz Worldwide Care program will be offered exclusively for sea chefs employees.

Free health and accident insurance throughout the contract term

Through sea chefs You will be insured against disease and accidents during contract period. This insurance is also valid for shore excursions and during your journey to and from site of operation.

Free uniform/service clothing

In most positions it is compulsory to wear the official uniform. The uniform must at all times be kept in a clean, ironed and undamaged condition. Your uniform is cleaned and ironed free of charge in the onboard laundry.

Arrival and departure free of charge

We organise and pay for your journey there and your arrival on board. The same applies after the contract ends. (A precondition for this is that the contract has been properly brought to an end.)

Employee Feedback Survey

Twice a year – in April and October – an employee survey takes place. Here, each crew member makes his needs known and makes suggestions for improvement.

The feedback we receive shows the interests and needs of the crew members on board. These impressions and suggestions are very important to us and we try to implement them as far as possible.

In addition, creative ideas and suggestions, for example about leisure activities, are always very welcome via Crew Welfare.

Crew Orientation Meeting

All "newcomers" on board are received upon entry with a welcome event by the human resources department. This helps You to quickly settle in to your new home and to be better able to find your bearings in your workplace.

Apart from technical issues, the most important thing on board is safety. Here You also receive extensive training and thorough practical training after your arrival.

At regular intervals, we have coaches/trainers on board, who provide support and further development to the crew through various specialist training.

But your personal competencies are very important and further training in this area is given high priority on board the Mein Schiff fleet.

Rookie Coach

On board, team work counts. It is therefore the fundamental goal of the C.R.E.W. introduction programme to effectively integrate You into a new team within the first two weeks. Selected and experienced crew members – our Rookie Coaches – will help You to do so.
